Hi, I'm Emily!!

I was born and raised in River Falls, WI, but I am currently located in Stevens Point, Wisconsin working toward my BFA in Musical Theatre, BA in Arts Management, and minor in media studies at the University of Wisconsin Stevens Point!

Ever since I could talk, I've had a passion for telling stories. I first got into acting in second grade when I was asked to be a part of a play for my 4-H club. The play was a comedy about aliens and moon rocks, and even though we received last place for our performance that day, I will never forget the feeling of radiant, unaltered joy that I sensed afterward. I fell in love with the infectious laughter of the audience and became preoccupied with the notion that I was the one who created that laughter. I was the cause of a smile, a cry, a joyful moment in a stranger’s life. Ever since that moment, I haven't looked back.

Throughout high school I was incredibly active in my school's marching band, musical, and forensics (speech and debate) team. I'm happy to say that I'm a state champion in the category of Group Interpretation, and placed second in the state of Wisconsin in the category of solo humorous.

 

That being said, forensics truly is what opened the door into the theatre industry for me. I felt deeply inspired by my teammates when they shared their own truths through this activity, whether it be about coming out to their families, racism in America, or the struggles of living with depression. From this incredible experience, I knew that I wanted to pursue something bigger than myself. Stories have the ability to alter lives and perspectives for the better. This has been my goal going into a career in the theatre industry.

When I’m not on stage, you can find me crocheting, hiking and exploring nature with my friends, watching the Star Wars and Harry Potter movies for the hundredth time, and hanging out with my dog, Zoe!!
